Kentucky Route 3600 (KY 3600) is a secondary urban state highway located entirely in Barren County, Kentucky. Route description KY 3600 is the state highway designation for the western extension of the Veterans Outer Loop around the city of Glasgow, the Barren County seat. The route begins at a junction with KY 1267 and ends at a crossroad intersection with the concurrently running U.S. Route 68 (US 68) and KY 80, US 68 Business, and the pre-existing part of the outer loop on the west side of town. Glasgow is a home rule-class city in Barren County, Kentucky, United States. It is the seat of its county. Glasgow is the principal city of the Glasgow micropolitan area, which comprises Barren and Metcalfe counties. The population was 14,028 at the 2010 U.S. census. Barren County is a county located in the south-central portion of the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 44,485. Its county seat is Glasgow. The county was founded on December 20, 1798, from parts of Warren and Green Counties. It was named for the Barrens, meadowlands that cover the northern third, though actually the soil is fertile. Barren County is part of the Glasgow, KY Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Bowling Green-Glasgow, KY Combined Statistical Area. Veterans Outer Loop is a major bypass route in Glasgow, Kentucky. It is maintained by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC). Kentucky Route 1297 (KY 1297) is a east–west state highway that traverses two counties in south-central Kentucky. Route description KY 1297 is one out of two old, original routes from Bowling Green directly to Glasgow, the other being the current U.S. Route 68 (US 68) and KY 80 alignment east of Bowling Green. KY 1297 starts at an intersection with KY 1402 east of Bowling Green. The road in its entire route from KY 1402 to the Barren County line is known as Gott–Hydro Road. Kentucky Route 80
Kentucky Route 80 (KY 80) is a state highway in the southern part of the U.S. state of Kentucky. The route originates on the state's western border at Columbus in Hickman County and stretches across the southern portion of the state, terminating southeast of Elkhorn City on the Virginia state line. It is the longest Kentucky State Highway, though the official distance as listed in route logs is much less due to multiple concurrencies with U.S. Route 68 (US 68) and US 23. The route was split into two segments from 2003 to November 2009. Construction and relocation of KY 80 in Graves, Calloway, and Marshall counties during this time caused the route to be split. It is owned by Gray Television alongside Telemundo affiliate WBGS-LD (channel 34). The two stations maintain studios on Russellville Road (US 68/KY 80) near its junction with Interstate 165 on the west side of Bowling Green. The transmitter facility is located along Kentucky Route 185 (Richardsville Road) in unincorporated northern Warren County.
